The Best Stand Mounted Speakers for your Hi Fi System

Firstly, what on earth does Stand-mounted Speakers mean?

This is a term first introduced by those ‘What Hi Fi’ guys, as they (quite rightly) ask us to consider the musical quality produced by a pair of so-called ‘Book-shelf’ speakers to be infinitely enhanced when mounted on a pair of quality Stands, rather than simply placed at random on shelves.

Great Advice!

At the moment (until I fix up my Quad ESL-57s) I have a pair of Tannoy Mercury 2 mounted on Atacama Nexus 6 stands, which I filled with sand.

The musical difference is indescribable, so if you are buying new speakers and don’t want – or haven’t the room for - big floor mounted ones, make sure you get yourself a pair of quality stands to go with your new purchase.
